Success is never easily defined. Some believe that having a certain career determines success, while others measure success through wealth and possessions. Success is not about the destination, but the journey, and for some people, it is the challenge that gives them a sense of purpose.
Students and parents define academic success very specifically. Some people feel that a particular grade point average means success, or admission to a certain post-secondary program or school. Success is more than just grades or admission success - it is also about learning to make decisions independently, learning to work collaboratively, and learning to take responsibility for one's actions.
Annette Poechman works with students to define and develop plans to meet specific academic, career and educational goals.
